Britax Regent Youth Car Seat Review

If you’re shopping for a car seat for your child you may feel a little overwhelmed. You’ve probably realized just how many there are to choose from, how many different brands there are, features to consider, styles, kinds, colors and the list goes on.

Although, what parents should really look into more are the reviews the car seats receive. Lets say you have a list of the top 5 car seats you’re considering, they all seem great and have the features you want but you’re not sure which one of the five to choose. What you should go by now are the reviews. This is the best way to distinguish a good car seat from a poorly rated one. Parents who own a certain car seat will tell you the pros and cons of the seat, what features they really like, what you can go without, if it’s worth the costly price, if they think it’s safe enough and overall whether or not you should buy it for your child to use.

For example, one of the best-selling car seats on the market is the Britax Regent Youth. This car seat includes all of the following:

To start off, this car seat is made for children weighing 22-80 lbs. Which means it should only be forward-facing for children at least 1 year old and 22 to 80 pounds. What makes this seat so special is that you can get a lot of use out of it! This seat will last your child a few years instead of some others that last a year. The Britax Regent Youth includes:

- It includes comfort foam and EPS protective foam which are made for the safety and comfort of your child.

- Includes a patented HUGS system.

- Has a convenient mesh storage pouch/cup holder for your little one’s snacks and drinks on the go.

- It is made with a removable and washable fabric cover in case your child spills something on it, it gets dirty or if your child was recently sick.

- Has the LATCH safety system.

- It also has a tangle-free 5 point harness with belly pad. This is something parents should really look for!

- A flexible buckle latch system and versa-tether.

- 4 shoulder slots for closer fit.

- A pull front harness adjustment.

As you can see, there are several great features to this car seat! Although what makes this car seat even better is that it is one of the best rated car seats on the market. With almost 200 reviews from parents this car seat is rated a 4.5 out of 5.0 stars! When it comes to our child and their safety combined we definitely don’t want to be cheap. Being cheap can harm them in the long run and leave us with a lot of regret. So, if you’re looking for a great car seat for your child consider one of the many highly rated car seats on the market like the Britax Regent Youth.

Finding The Right Car Seat For Your Child

Are you shopping for a child’s car seat? If so, you may be a little overwhelmed by all the ones on the market. There are several different brands, features to consider, types, styles, prices and the list goes on. With so many options, it’s hard to find the perfect one right away. Although, we’re here to help you find out what you’re looking for. For assistance with car seats, continue reading below.

Infant car seats: You will want to consider an infant car seat for your newborn. They are typically used for children weighing up to 20lbs and can be used until a year of age. Also, these should only be used rear-facing, no forward-facing. There are several different ones to choose from. My favorites are the Graco Snugride and the Britax Companion.

Convertible car seats: If you don’t want to go the infant route you can consider getting a convertible car seat for your child. These can be used from the day your child is born until about 4 years of age. You will start them out rear-facing from 5-22 lbs AND one year and then switch them forward-facing when they meet both requirements. These are great because they can be an infant seat as well. Although, what parents don’t like is that they are bigger and bulkier so carrying your newborn around will be kind of tough until they get a little bigger.

For a convertible car seat I highly recommend any Britax car seat, the Cosco Scenera or the Graco Nautilus.

Booster car seats: You don’t want to start looking for these until your child has reached about the age of 5. These are typically used for children weighing 50-100 lbs and are only forward-facing seats. This is the last car seat you will need to buy for your child. My favorites are the Cosco High Back Booster, Evenflo Big Kid Booster, or the Graco Backless TurboBooster.

3-in-1 car seats: These are great because they can be used as an infant seat, convertible and booster seat all combined into one. These are larger seats and aren’t too pricey so they’re definitely worth considering. The brand that carries a lot of nice ones is Safety 1st if you’re interested.

There are several different kinds of car seats on the market. Although, it is very important that you find the one that is made for your child! They all have different height, weight and age requirements, features and styles to choose from. So, find one that your child sits comfortably in, one that has all the safety features and convenient features and most importantly find one that has good ratings/reviews.

It is best to get other parent’s opinions on car seats. There are a lot that many parents don’t recommend while others absolutely love certain ones. So when it comes to the safety of your child and the price you’re going to be paying it is best you get a second opinion from someone that really knows what they’re talking about!
