Getting a Good Rice Cooker

Everyone eats rice, its such a popular food. There’s plenty of it and if cooked the right way, it will always taste great. Making sure that the rice isn’t undercooked or overcooked is something that can be easily avoided if you have a type of rice cooker that automatically shuts itself off after it knows that the rice is ready.

The instructions are fairly simple, in fact it can be explained in less than two minutes. Rice is something that is being widely eaten for even breakfast now. So wouldn’t it be nice to have nice warm rice in the early chill of the morning? Most rice cookers cost less than 100 dollars, and to be honest, buying a rice cooker that’s over 100 bucks wouldn’t really make a huge difference.

The more cups that a rice cooker has, the faster it can make more rice. The more recent rice cookers made can even hold 8 cups of rice. Of course, some advanced rice cookers are used for more than just cooking rice. Some rice cookers can prepare steamed vegetables, soups, stews and lots of other different dishes that you never even dreamed of. Isn’t it much easier and convenient when you have just one machine that can do all that? Life is tough, especially in these economic times so at least have a good meal to cheer you up. Even though technology gets more advanced and complicated, the designers of the more advanced rice cookers prefer to keep their products simple to use.

Many famous restaurants are changing their rice cookers because of the new wave of innovative rice cookers that recently came out. There are many good brands of rice cookers now so doing research before finding the perfect one that fits your standards as well as your budget is important. Some rice cookers even have a cooling feature which makes it less hot to pick up. That way you can greatly lower your chances of getting burned. Vegetarians eat vegetables, other people eat meat, but everyone eats rice so that’s why there should be a good rice cooker in every house.

Always know that if you buy the right rice cooker now, that you won’t ever need to buy another in a long time. Whether you live by yourself or with other people, 1 rice cooker should always be enough to serve everyone. Always do a lot of research before finding the perfect rice cooker for you. They are also great as gifts since people usually always want a new rice cooker but can’t bring themselves up to buy one. (This is the same for coffee machines too).

Don’t buy a machine that breaks down or gets rusty after only one year, get one that can preferably last over 5 years. Always check the warranty of the rice cooker before buying it. All you need besides rice, water and a rice cooker are the only three things needed to make a good serving of rice.

Brian does extensive research on the best rice cookers out there. He suggests that the best and cheapest rice cooker available is the Aroma Rice Cooker. You can purchase your aroma rice cooker at www.aroma-rice-cooker.com.

How and Why Do You Sweat Excessively?

You should not get surprised on learning that a human being has millions of sweat glands, averaging about three million. These are housed in the lower layer of skin and the primary function of sweat glands is to regulate body temperature thru the process of releasing water secretions that get evaporated soon after being expelled from the body and on getting in touch with atmospheric conditions prevailing outside the body. And, as is too well known cooling is caused by evaporation, the water vapors in the form of sweat on getting evaporated keep the body cool. Apart from water, its main constituent, sweat also has a complex mixture of salts like bicarbonates of sodium and potassium, besides urea and calcium along with traces of amino acids.

Sweat glands are categorized into two, namely eccrine and apocrine. Both are controlled by human nervous system, which also controls other involuntary body movements including heartbeat and breathing etc.

But, quite often we come across people who seem to be sweating excessively. Surely, you have seen somebody sweating to the extent of having a wet collar, with sweat almost dripping down the scalp and face. It’s not a very pleasant sight, though! In medical terms, excessive sweating of the face is referred to as hyperhydrosis and continues to affect a sizeable part of population all over the world, not being confined to any specific geographical area. Hyperhydrosis is categorized into two: primary and secondary, also known as generalized sweating. Primary hyperhydrosis is experienced more often and is not the result of a particular physical activity, and remains localized. In most cases it is caused due inheritance and appears during teen years. However, in certain cases it is known to appear during early childhood or even during infancy. Such a condition is attributed to an overactive nervous system.

The other form, known as secondary or generalized hyperhidrosis refers to an increased production of sweat all over the body i.e. it is not localized like the primary kind described already. The causes for this kind of sweating are many and vary from person to person. So far, its exact cause has not been be ascertained but now it is known that genetic disorder is the principal cause of excessive perspiration. However, it has other known causes too, and these include menopause, hyperthyroidism, infection, obesity and even psychiatric disorders.

What are the available treatments?

Botox -It involves injecting Botulium toxin underneath the skin. This localizes the sweating but is long lasting. Primarily, it disenables nerve endings of the affected area from releasing sweat. It is most often practiced for underarm area or soles and palms.

Topical therapies – Antiperspirants containing aluminum salts are very widely used for having a control over excessive sweating. Antiperspirants with aluminum chloride hexahydrate as the main constituent are considered to be the most effective.

Oral Medications – A variety of pills available across the counter or thru prescriptions are available with each having its own formulation and side effects.

Tap Water Iontophoresis – In case other treatments fail to give desired results, this alternative is applied. In this case direct current is used for injecting the skin with ionized medicines.

Getting Rid of Excessive Facial Sweat

I know what it is to be having a sweaty face most of the time. I have experienced it and am here to share my experiences with you and tell you three of the most effective ways of tackling it.

However, before we really go ahead with it, I may point out that while you opt for one of treatments suggested here, you need to keep a watch on your face, meaning if you experience any irritation with one of the treatments, stop following it and choose the other option. But, that shouldn’t lead you to believe that any of these treatments is harsh on your skin. That’s only because the chemistry of every face is different.

Another thing that you would already know, but I can’t help reminding, is that your face is not designed to bear the after-effects of any strong deodorant. Yes, I did try that once and still can’t forget the aftermath! It breaks your skin, resulting to rashes, causes inflammation, leaving dry patches and a whole lot of complications beyond understanding. What I recommend are proven mild remedies that promise quick relief.

So, here we go:

1.Witch Hazel – They make witch hazel from the bark, leaves and twigs of this plant. This is very conveniently available, needing no search. Get it from the nearest medical store or even a grocery store. I’m sure you are not aware of the beneficial properties of this plant, like I was, but let me tell you it does wonders to your face. Witch hazel has built-in astringent characteristics and is soft on the skin, keeping your face dry. Additionally, it has anti- inflammation properties. It keeps the oily skin dry, has the capacity to camouflage pores on your face and proves to be an efficient natural antiperspirant. he best feature of this natural antiperspirant is that its anti-inflammatory characteristics reduce redness of face. You need to apply just a thin layer to realize its benefits. Try it once and you are sure to benefit.

2.Aloe Vera Juice – I’m sure you have used aloe vera in the form of a moisturizer. It’s the same aloe vera here, but in its diluted form. You are going to like its characteristic coolness when applied on the skin, especially when it’s hot or even spring. But you need to determine if sweating on your face gets triggered or aggravated when it’s warm, for there is a category of people who would sweat profusely even when in freezing temperatures (this is called hyperhidrosis). Aloe vera may not prove as effective for those affected by hyperhidrosis, but it does provide some degree of relief. Aloe vera offers a good temporary measure, lasting for two to three hours. So, that makes it an ideal remedy when out on a date or for attending an important business meeting.

3.Maxim Facial Wipes – If any of the natural items listed above fails to deliver results, it’s probably time to rely on Maxim Facial wipes, especially made for the purpose by a manufacturer from U.K. You may have to search for it on the Internet. Nevertheless, natural materials are economical, easily available and are proven to be effective.

Domestic Violence “Tiffany’s Style” – 5 Challenges of Wealthy Abused Women

Many people think that domestic violence is easier to deal with when you are wealthy. But, the fact is that the affluent have a whole set of issues unique to their elevated socioeconomic status that makes dealing with domestic abuse even more difficult.

How is it for the rich battered woman?

1) Disbelief

When they break their silence, a roar breaks out shoving them right back into hiding. People doubt that they are actually abused. “How can that be?” they hear, “Your husband is a pillar in the community.”

He can be a doctor, a lawyer, a politician, your community’s own clergy… If he serves in these caring/healing/protective positions, how in the world can he be an abuser? This dichotomy confuses outsiders looking in on affluent domestic abuse.

As an aside, it evens confuses Google. Try doing a Google search on domestic violence and wealth or money or affluent. These words connoting an upscale socioeconomic status cannot be found in combination with the term “domestic violence” (at least not at the time of this writing).

2) No Empathy

People withhold empathy for the circumstances of wealthy battered women. “You go on exotic vacations, live in a nice house, have your pick of the season’s best…”

The implication here is that you should “turn the check” with respect to you being slapped around and enjoy your wealth. It says that the lifestyle is the “price” for putting up with being battered.

3) False Claims and Re-victimization

When affluent battered women reach out to social services for help, the potential for the abuse they endure increases exponentially. She can become buried in the play-offs sponsored by the payoffs of their manipulating abusive partners.

Abusers are known for their ability to manipulate healthcare providers and law enforcement to establish false claims about their victims. It’s their way of discrediting the domestic violence survivor, and ultimately saving face by casting off any responsibility for alleged or documented domestic abuse.

4) Empty Legal War Chest

When they go to divorce court, all hell can break lose. They can be buried in pleading upon pleading characteristic of legal stalking in high profile divorce cases.

Oftentimes, these battered women stand in family court pro se’ representing themselves against their battering partner’s team of legal counsel. They may even have a list of divorce attorneys left in their wake once payment could not be forthcoming.

You see, most of the so-called affluent battered women have no control over the family money. So, when the chase is on to break the cycle of abuse, the financial spigot is turned off. And they remain at the mercy of their partner’s financial war chest-the resources defining their upscale status in the first place.

Then, when they try to draw from the same resources available to their less “financially empowered” counterparts, it doesn’t get any better. Unfortunately, “affluent” battered women reaching out to the public system for legal aid can be told, “We can’t help you because your needs for legal assistance will exceed our entire annual budget.”

5) The Heinous Crimes

Sadly, these are the domestic violence divorce cases wherein battered mothers may lose contact with their minor children, or get token contact via supervised visitation. These are the domestic violence survivors that fall through the cracks of the legal system-becoming childless, homeless, and penniless.

These are the brave women who thought they had it easier, as did everyone else, because of their wealth. And then, they recognize their challenges in breaking free ultimately can leave them re-victimized by their partner’s use of the family money.

If you are a bettered woman of wealth, be mindful of the challenges before you. And be prepared to deal with each and every one of them as you campaign for your breaking the cycle of domestic abuse.

Tongue Rings Can Be Hidden With Care

Tongue piercings are becoming more and more popular, especially in Western cultures. Although there are a variety of tongue rings and tongue piercings available, the traditional straight barbell piercing continues to be the most popular.

Pre-pierced teens and adults often wonder if this style of tongue ring will be visible when they talk, if it will cause a lot of swelling and if they will experience any trouble while eating after this piercing is done. To answer these questions, many search online and to make it more convenient, I have compiled the general responses into this article.

People also often wonder if the tongue piercing process will be especially painful; and very common question is “How much will it hurt to get my tongue pierced?” This is difficult to answer because some people report it didn’t even hurt as badly as an earring, and others say that it’s the most excruciating piercing there is. Every person has a different pain threshold so just consider this: if it was completely unbearable, there wouldn’t be some many people with tongue piercings.

How badly will my tongue swell? Will people see my tongue ring when I talk?

Immediately after the piercing, you will likely experience a lot of swelling and this is the most difficult time to hide your tongue ring. You will still be able to talk, but due to the swelling, your voice may sound different and some words will be harder to pronounce. Test this out by eating or sucking on ice for a long time until your tongue feels numb, then try to talk. Although it’s only a vague comparison, this trick could give you an idea.

To pierce your tongue, the piercer will generally use a titanium or stainless steel tongue ring. Unfortunately, these are not clear or tongue colored, which makes them more difficult to hide. After it heals, however, you can change your tongue ring to one that is less noticeable. Tongue rings come in varying lengths too. Wearers report that a shorter barbell is easier to hide, but also keep in mind that dentists say that this kind will cause more enamel damage because it is to easy to hold between your teeth.

One other option to hide tongue rings is to get the piercing as far back as possible in the tongue. This is not always the best technique because the placement of the ring depends largely on the location of veins in your tongue. Your professional piercer can help you determine where the tongue ring can go.

Many suggest that freshly pierced teens and adults try to keep their mouths closed as often as possible and try to talk quietly so they don’t have to open their mouths as wide.

Will I be able to eat immediately after getting my tongue pierced?

Once again, the culprit here is the swelling. Although you may not experience very much pain at the piercing site, the swollen size of your tongue may make it difficult to eat solid foods. Professionals recommend soup and soft foods like applesauce or mashed potatoes. Of course, just like a tonsillectomy, you can have as much ice cream as you can manage!

The swelling will begin to subside within a few days and your tongue should return to normal in about a week.
