PPI Claims – It Can Be Simple

Payment Protection Insurance has been acquired by millions of people on loans, credit cards, or mortgages. Throughout the UK, thousands of individuals have made PPI claims and if you took out Payment Protection Insurance along with your loan or mortgage, so could you. With all PPI policies there are exclusions that will lead your policy worthless. If you are unaware of the exclusions at the time of your loan then the lender mis sold you your insurance. Many of the claims that have been made have been successful and you too can make PPI claims if you were mis sold.

If you took a payment protection insurance along with a loan or mortgage you may be entitled to make a PPI claim. With each form of PPI there are exclusions that would make you making a claim null and void. Two such exclusions are if you work part time or if you are the age of retirement. If either condition applied to you at the time you gained your Payment Protection Insurance then you may be entitled to a claim.

Of the many that have made successful PPI claims were individuals that were either retired or only worked in part time employment. Mortgage, credit card and loan protection is a valuable option if you meet the requirements. If, however, you do not meet them, then the policy is null and void and making a successful claim will never happen. This is what is known as being mis sold and if you purchased the protection without the knowledge of what is excluded then you may be entitled to a refund.

Many people have made a PPI claim and have successfully been reimbursed the money they paid for their miss sold PPI policies. You too could be successful if you have wrongly been sold the policy. Mortgage, loan and income payment protection can all be valuable forms of PPI but only if you have checked the exclusions against your lifestyle. Trying to reclaim PPI can be daunting and this is what the lenders rely on, the fact that you do not know where to start and how to make a PPI claim.

Blue Hawaii

Blue Hawaii is perhaps one of the most well-known films to come out of the tiki craze that swept the nation during the 1950s and 1960s. This musical film set in Hawaii starred rock n’ roll legend Elvis Presley. It was the first of three Elvis movies shot in Hawaii; the others were Girls! Girls! Girls! In 1962, followed by 1965′s Paradise, Hawaiian Style. Blue Hawaii was his most successful film.

The storyline featured Presley as Chadwick Gates, a soldier who has recently returned to Hawaii, where he has been reunited with his girlfriend, his surfboard, and his friends. This scenario mirrors that of countless soldiers who returned from the islands in the aftermath of World War II, bringing the souvenirs of Polynesian culture that would spark the tiki fad. By the time this film was recorded, the tiki craze had affected every facet of American life, even its rock n’ roll.

Much of the film Blue Hawaii was shot on-location, in the Coco Palms Resort of Kauai. Other scenes were shot in a volcanic crater near Waikiki known as Hanauma Bay. Many of the beach shots show Waikiki as it appeared in the early 1960s, further increasing the popularity of this island paradise on the mainland, where the tiki craze had already ignited an interest in all things Hawaii.

The soundtrack to the movie Blue Hawaii, which also carried the title of Blue Hawaii, is also one of the most popular Elvis albums, although some have said that it is inferior to his non-soundtrack albums. Still, the soundtrack spent 79 weeks on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, including an impressive 20 weeks at #1. In all, more than 2 million copies were sold, making it certified triple-platinum and Presley’s top-selling album during his lifetime.

His fourteenth album, Presley’s track listings for Blue Hawaii ranged from a remake of Bing Crosby’s song “Blue Hawaii” to such Hawaiian-influenced tunes as “Rock-A-Hula Baby” and “Ku-u-ipo,” which translates to ‘Hawaiian Sweetheart.’ The touches of Hawaiian music included a traditional song “Aloha ‘Oe” and a Hawaiian Wedding Song from a 1926 operetta. Perhaps interestingly, none of the hits to be included on this 1961 album came out of the tiki craze that had started just a decade before, and which was still in full swing as Blue Hawaii was released. Still, the album did incorporate such Hawaiian sounds at the ukulele, a guitar-like instrument used in Hawaiian popular music for over a century. Today, his album remains very popular for luaus and tiki-influenced parties thanks to its mixture of 1960s rock n’roll and a Hawaiian influenced beat.

Both the movie and the album shone a light on the romantic Hawaiian culture that had inspired the tiki craze. It is known that Elvis Presley was a fan of Hawaiian-style music; remnants of this style can even be seen in several of his post-Blue Hawaii songs. During the 1950s and 1960s, the effects of the tiki craze and Hawaiian music were so profound that its influence even affected the archetypal American sound of Rock and Roll.

Boat Security

You don’t need security systems for your boat, right? Although boats might seem like a low security risk, they are actually at danger, whether docked or in the water near other boats or people. If you own a boat, it is important that you take the precautions to protect it, just like you would your home.

Your first way to protect your boat is by thoroughly investigating the marina or any other location where your boat is stored. Too many boat owners only consider storage areas in terms of the storage conditions, completely ignoring the security aspect. How good are the security systems? Are there security guards and cameras? Are identities checked before visitors are allowed access to the boats? Is the overall geographic area a safe one? Be aware of the surroundings, including any potential dangers. Whether your boat will only be docked there for a few nights, or you plan to leave it there all winter long, security should be one of your top priorities when selecting a marina or a boat storage location.

Use sturdy locks on all doors, lockers, and hatches. Remember, criminals around your boat aren’t just looking to steal it – they may also be interested in the possessions you keep on board, from life vests to that expensive new GPS system you just installed. It is particularly important to consider the security of your motor, because these are frequently targeted by thieves who hang around boats.

Never leave the keys in the ignition, no matter where you are. This might seem like common sense, because you’d probably never think to do it with your car, but far too many people think nothing of leaving their keys in their boat, never imagining that someone would try to steal it when you’re so close by.

Consider installing alarms on your boat. There are many different sensors and alarms designed for boat use. Another popular solution is to install simple door and window alarms on entry points to the boat, or pressure mats that sound an alarm when stepped on. Any of these alarms is very difficult to ignore, even if no one but the thief is in the immediate vicinity.

It is equally important to turn on the alarms while you’re below deck as when you’re away from the boat. What if someone enters the boat while you’re below deck taking a nap? A loud beeping alarm will alert you to the stranger’s presence immediately. If you’d like to check in on your boat while it’s docked, consider installing security cameras that allow you to watch what’s happening over the internet.

Finally, consider boat insurance, which will protect your boat and the items you keep on the boat in the event that either are stolen. Many boat owners try to put as little money as possible into boat maintenance and security, but it is important to protect your investment by taking the right security precautions. Too many boating enthusiasts don’t think about alarming their boat or otherwise protecting it from harm until something happens to it.

Bradley Classic Wash Fountains

Bradley Classic Wash Fountains combine eighty years of time-tested designs with new bowl materials and high-tech features that save money on water, energy, and maintenance. These wash fountains are market leaders because of their superior performance and visual elegance.

Most of the Bradley Classic Wash Fountains feature circular or semi-circular bowls with nine inches of depth. This deep bowl design, sometimes referred to as the “Classic,” is an excellent choice when the location or application requires moderate to heavy duty hand washing. Deep bowls are designed for washing heavily soiled hands and arms quickly and efficiently. Bradley offers a number of bowl materials to select from and they include Terreon, Terrazzo, Stainless Steel, and Bradstone.

As mentioned earlier, Bradley Classic Wash Fountains are designed for moderate to heavy duty hand washing. This type of use is not compatible with some hardware and design features. For example, a common error is to order a water saving Sentry or Multi-Fount faucet with a Classic Bowl. These low flow water faucets are not suitable for heavy duty hand washing, which requires greater amounts of water. Low flow water faucets will not result in water savings in a heavy duty hand washing location. It will result in longer hand washing times. Low flow water faucets are suitable for applications that require low to moderate hand washing. Another error is to order ADA compliant hardware when most of the users are not physically challenged. For example, you would not expect to find workers in wheelchairs in a manufacturing or wholesale facility. Therefore, selecting ADA compliant fixtures for washfountains in manufacturing or wholesale facilities is of little value to the customer.

Bradley Classic Wash Fountains that utilize precast Terrazzo as the bowl material are most suitable for manufacturing facilities, repair facilities, stadiums, and similar locations. Terrazzo is a medium cost material and the most vandal resistance due to its weight and strength. It is also one of the most attractive materials offered. The bowl finish may require some maintenance during its lifetime and abrasive cleaners should not be used.

Bradstone is a bowl material that is low cost and very durable. It is suitable for use in manufacturing facilities, retrofit applications, repair facilities, and similar locations. It is chemical resistant but abrasive cleaners should not be used. This material offers the least in aesthetic value and vandal resistance.

Bradley Classic Wash Fountains that utilize Stainless Steel as the bowl material are most suitable for manufacturing facilities, food facilities, medical facilities, printing facilities, repair facilities, stadiums, and similar locations. Stainless steel is a higher cost material but it is extremely durable and vandal resistant. Only nonferrous abrasives should be used to clean or restore the finish on stainless steel. Some chemicals can corrode stainless steel so care should be taken.

Terreron is a bowl material that is suitable for manufacturing facilities, food facilities, medical facilities, repair facilities, stadiums, and similar locations. It is a medium cost material with a granite-like appearance. It is an extremely durable material that is stain and burn resistant. Mild abrasives can be used to clean and restore the finish and the surface can be easily repaired. It is also half the weight of Terrazzo and can be shipped more cheaply.

How To Renew Your Passport

Things just aren’t what they used to be when it comes to travel, now more than ever you must have a current valid passport to travel just about anywhere. For most of us it’s very easy to get in trouble when it comes to your passport and not checking to see if it’s expired or going to expire soon. Correct United States documentation is often the last thing we think of when planning international travel. If you have found yourself in that far too often predicament of having upcoming travel plans and an expired or in correct documents here are some tips that can help.

Renewing your passport step number one: Find your old papers such as your birth certificate. If you don’t have your old passport it can be a nightmare to get a new one because you must surrender your old document before the authorities will issue you a new one. So if you don’t have it, start looking if you still can’t find it contact your local United States Department of State office immediately, there are special lost forms you must fill out and this can add significant time to the process of getting your new one.

Renewing your passport step number two: Get an up-to-date photo taken. You’ll need two copies of the new photo and you can get these in thousands of locations. One of the easiest and most cost-effective places to get a photo taken is Kinko’s. Most Kinko’s locations offer photo services and typically this should cost you no more than $20.

Renewing your passport step number three: Renewing your US passport via the mail. You can renew by mail if you meet all of the following criteria. One, your current U.S. document is undamaged and can be turned in with your application. Two, your current documents were issued to you after the age of 16. If it was issued to you before you turned 16 you can not renew it via the mail. Three, it was issued to you with in the last 15 years. If it has been over 15 years since it was issued to you you can not renew it via the mail. Four, it was issued under your current legal name. If you have changed your name legally since the last issuance you can not renew it via the mail. If you meet all of the above criteria renewing via the mail is a fairly simple process. You can download and submit via mail along with your current passport, photos and a check. Form DS-82 from the State Department’s website. Routine issuance takes typically 4 to 6 weeks via the mail. If you pay for expedited service you can typically receive it via the mail in 2 to 3 weeks.

As you can see the process is not as simple as driving down to your local post office in getting it. Give yourself plenty of time to get all the paperwork done correctly and have your new documents mailed to you. There is nothing worse than missing a wonderful trip because of passport issues.

How To Sleep On A Plane

There is nothing worse than arriving at your destination whether it’s for business or vacation and being exhausted and over tired. In some cases the sleep that you will get on a plane is the only sleep you may have for that day so it’s very important to get as good of a rest in as possible on the plane as you can.

Possibly the most important step to getting some sleep on the plane is your choice in seats. Asile seats are great if you plan on staying awake the entire flight, but if you want to sleep Murphy’s Law says that as soon as you start to nod off someone will ask you to get up so that they can get out of your row to go to the bathroom or walk around. If you want to sleep, a window seat is the way to go. Not only will you not have to get up for other people but you can rest your head against the window and feel more comfortable that you won’t end up leaning against or drooling on the stranger next to you.

If at all possible avoid the last row of the airplane, often times these seats do not recline and they are so close to the bathroom that you are constantly being woken up by noisy people and yucky smells. Typically, the closer you can get to the front the quieter the plane will be on most planes the rear of the plane is extremely noisy due to engine placement. Exit rows give you more legroom, however they’re often some of the first rows to fully booked up so the chances of you having an open seat next to you are pretty slim.

Sometimes honesty is the best policy as you go to check in for your flight tell the gate agent you would like to get some sleep and ask them if there is a row available where you can have a window seat and no one next to, it can’t hurt to ask.

Another important factor in getting some rest on a plane is what you’re wearing. Try to dress comfortably and be prepared for the plane to either be too cold or too warm wearing layers will help a great deal in finding that ideal temperature to be able to fall a sleep easily.

Drinking doesn’t help. In numerous sleep studies doctors have found that consuming alcohol actually inhibits your ability to fall asleep properly and the quality is so poor that you literally don’t get any rest at all so avoid those cocktails in the bar before the flight if at all possible.

Bring your iPod and have soothing music preselected that can play for a long period of time without you having to adjust the controls of your iPod. If you have trouble sleeping to music bring earplugs. If you don’t have earplugs but you have your iPod and you don’t want to listen to music, wear the headphones anyways, this will keep annoying people from bothering you with conversation during the flight.

If you can think of it bring one of those neck donut pillows as they will help you get more comfortable and save your neck during a two hour nap on the plane. As goofy as the luck they really do make a difference and can really help.

Confidence For Men or How to Attract More Women?

Women of all kinds find it important to have a man who is confident about himself. With this being said, more and more men are catching on and doing things for themselves to become more confident.

It is clear to most men that confidence is the most important factor in determining whether or not a woman will be attracted to them. Most women can tell right off the bat if a man is confident about himself or not.

Not all men are the same and some need to be conditioned into being more confident. For men that are not confident to begin with, things like: physical appearance, endowment of reproductive organs, hand gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, and conversation ability are things they must learn to have in order to stay competitive in the market of finding women.

More subtle details of a man are picked up from a woman on a level that most men have no clue about. Let’s just say that they can feel confidence and leave it at that. There is some sort of cosmic wavelength that a women picks up on. So, confidence, in many cases, cannot be faked.

If a man is lacking in any of these areas, it is probable that the women will either ignore him, or even worse, make fun of him in front of her girlfriends. But, if he gets a date and ends up getting physical with the woman, the lack of self confidence will bring down bedroom performance to the point where she will not want to see him again.

There are of course exceptions to the rule. However, even if a man with little confidence pulls a lady, she will just end up leaving him in the long run for a man with a lot of confidence – it happens all the time.

Not having the woman a man wants can hurt other parts of his life. Not only will he be lacking partnership and companionship, he will also find it hard to adjust in social settings and therefore will not have a full life.

It is not always clear to a man as to why he is not able to get the woman of his dreams. Many times, he will have no idea and blame other factors. However, there are ways to change this and change it forever.

Men today have to understand that women need a man who feels comfortable in his own skin. Things like gesturing, making eye contact, and walking tall are all cues that women look for when considering a man for a date or even for a relationship.

I used to have such low self confidence that I walked around with my head down, did not make eye contact, and put my hands in my pockets when I approached women. I soon realized that this does not work when trying to get a date with a woman. Today, I have the woman of my dreams and if she ever leaves, I will have no problem getting another one.

The Most Popular Baby Soft Toys

When searching for baby toys, one of the most popular characteristics is softness. Even infants are able to enjoy the tactile experience of squeezing a soft toy. But there’s a seemingly unlimited number of baby toys out on the market, and choosing the right one can seem like a daunting task. Here are some of the most popular types of soft baby toys available. Choosing from this list will increase the likelihood that your baby will enjoy a toy:

1. Stuffed animals

From cats to dogs and from rabbits to bears – it’s difficult for babies (or adults) to resist a stuffed animal. These toys are available in a cornucopia of animals, shapes, and sizes. These toys become so precious to children that they often keep them until adulthood. Make sure to choose ones that are hypoallergenic, to prevent your son or daughter from getting sick while playing with the toy.

2. Fabric book

Even if your baby son or daughter can’t read yet, he or she will have hours of fun flipping through these books. They contain pages that are easy for your baby to turn. And each page is full of big and bright images that will keep your baby engaged. The books can have a wide array of topics that will help to enhance your child’s cognitive development.

3. Toy blanket

Your baby isn’t too young to enjoy a Transformer-type toy. This toy actually doubles as a blanket. So besides keeping your baby entertained, it can also keep him or her snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug. How do they work? A pocket in the blanket includes the limbs of the animal, which pull out to transform the blanket into a cuddly toy.

4. Knee horse

This toy is actually one that the mother or father wears. The parent places the horse’s head on his or her knee. The child can then sit on his or her parent’s knee and pretend to be riding a horse. There’s even a button near the horse’s ear, which makes various horse sounds. This is definitely a toy that your baby will remember long after he or she has outgrown it! Your baby can even ride the horse without using your knee. Simply stuff the horse’s head with pillows, to allow your son or daughter to ride the imaginary horse anytime.

5. Toy pillow.

These pieces double as toys and pillows. Like other stuffed animals, your baby will enjoy playing with these toys. The difference is that they’re also large enough for your baby to rest his or her head on it. These toys are so soft that your baby will sleep as soundly as when using a standard baby pillow! You can find these toys/pillows that resemble most of the popular types of stuffed animals available. Since babies are especially vulnerable to different materials, choose a pillow filled with one that’s hypoallergenic.

Softness and textures are definitely two of the key components of baby toys. These are some of the most popular ones, which have become worldwide favourites of babies. Consider them to avoid having a hard time when choosing a soft toy!

Fixing a Portable DVD Player

Improvements in technology over the past years have meant that all the cumbersome devices we have around the home have now been shrunk down to a conveniently portable size. This is especially true of DVD players which are particularly useful now that they come in portable form, especially if you are going on a long trip or holiday and to have children that you need to keep entertained. Portable DVD players are ready equipped with a small plasma screen, some even with a remote control. As with any other piece of electronic equipment you will inevitably encounter problems which requires that the DVD player undergoes some repairs. You will be pleased to hear that you don’t need any expertise in electronics in order to undertake the work yourself and with sensible use of a few household items your DVD player should be up and running again in no time.

Start by performing the most obvious task and clean the DVD disc itself. It may be easy to assume that the DVD player is to blame when a film doesn’t play directly but you would be surprised at how many perceived faults can be fixed by simply cleaning the disc. Check the back of the disc for prominent scratches, dirt or even fingerprints. These will clearly all prevent your disc from playing correctly as the DVD player will not be able to read the information properly. You can buy DVD cleaner kits or if you don’t have one to hand and any damage to the back of the disc looks fairly superficial or minimal then simply use a soft cloth. You should begin at the very edge and then slowly and carefully work your way to the middle of the disc.

If the disc appears fine or any cleaning that you have done hasn’t improved matters then next step you need to take is to check the picture settings on the portable DVD player. If it appears that the picture on the screen is at all distorted or stretched prominently in one direction then all you may have to do is adjust the settings depending on the type of film that you are watching. It could be the case that the screen is set up for wide screen films where the film you are viewing is based viewed in full screen format, or vica versa. If a DVD disc is stuck in the portable player then eject it manually. A common problem occurs where the disc has warped slightly or there may be a sticker peeling off which has caused the door to jam. If you close the screen and turn the DVD player upside down then you should be able to find the manya eject hole. This can be done by unwinding a paper clip and pushing it into the hole.

If the problem appears to be an internal one then it could be a good idea to buy a DVD cleaning disc. This will help to get rid of any grim or dirt off the lens of the DVD player laser. If you use your DVD player frequently and regularly change the disc then there will inevitably be a build up of dirt which will prevent the laser being as effective at reading information from the disc.

Finally, check the batteries to make sure that they have not run out. Remember that batteries for portable DVD players will only last around 3 hours. If the battery lasts significantly less than this time it could be time to replace the DVD player itself.
